MAN ARRESTED AFTER WINNING THE LOTTERY
July 21, 2011

Some people say that moderation is the path to happiness. This is a lesson that Joseph Taglieri from Massachusetts should take to heart. Yesterday night, the man was extremely happy because he managed to win a $500 lottery prize. And what did he do next? Well, he got up to the roof of his car and started screaming in joy. The police was alerted, and the man was arrested for illegal possession of Marijuana. State lottery

The police officers arrested the 31 year old right next to his apartment building, located on Prince Street, Boston. At that particular moment, he was screaming in joy and jumping on the roof of his 1994 Toyota Camry. Lotteries

“I was having such a bad day,” Taglieri stated. “The first number says I’ve won $500 so I start jumping up and down, like out of control. I didn’t mean to jump on the hood of the car but I was happy … It was almost like everything was going to be OK.” The man also said that he had serious money problems. Mega lottery

As he was being arrested, Joseph Taglieri came clean and told the cops that he was carrying some drugs. An ounce of marijuana was found in a sandwich bag in his pocket.

“I didn’t even get to finish scratching the scratch ticket,” Taglieri stated. What is ironic is that he will probably have to spend a large chunk of his money on fixing the dented car roof.

9 years ago, in 2002, Joseph Taglieri was convicted for drug dealing and spent two years in prison. 3 years ago, in 2008, he was found guilty of breaking and entering and also for drunk driving in 2010.

Apparently, upon further investigation, it was revealed that the man was carrying only half an ounce of marijuana, so he doesn’t have to spend time in jail again. However, he will most likely get fined.

The charges brought against him are marijuana possession and destruction of property. He will have to come back to court on September 21.

Well, the good thing is that at least he was allowed to keep his Massachusetts State Lottery ticket. Joseph Taglieri may or may not learn his lesson, but all of us must pay heed to this event. If you do manage to win the lotteries, just do everyone a favor and celebrate quietly in your own home. It might spare you a lot of trouble.
