MINNIE STEVENSON WILL RECEIVE $1000 PER WEEK FOR LIFE!
December 20, 2011

How would you feel if today you won the lottery and you would receive an extra $1000 per week for the rest of your life? Would that make your life so much more comfortable? Wouldn’t you simply let go of worries and work just because you love what you do and not for survival?

The Virginia Lottery and other states offer a game called Win for Life, wherein you have to pick six separate numbers from 1 through 42. You can also play Easy Pick and let the computer select your numbers. Each Win for Life ticket costs only $1 to play and there are eight ways to win six different prizes. The Grand prize is $1,000 per week for life. Every week there are two drawings held every Wednesday and Saturday. The Lottery will randomly select six numbers from 1 through 42 then a “Free Ball” drawn from the remaining 36 numbers. Anyone whose six numbers match the Lottery’s first six numbers wins $1,000 a week for the rest of their life! The seventh number – the “Free Ball” number – offers several chances to win other prizes, including the $52,000 second prize. There are 8 ways to win, with and without the “Free Ball”. Minnie Stevenson found out she’d won big in Virginia’s Win for Life game when she checked the newspaper for the winning numbers in the December 14 drawing. State lottery

“I looked at my husband and said, ‘Oh my gosh, we’re the winners!’” she later told Virginia Lottery officials.

The ticket was bought at Jiffee Mart, 806 Grubert Avenue in Staunton. It matched the first six numbers to win the game’s top prize. She’ll receive $1,000 per week for the rest of her life. Lotteries

On December 19, she and her husband returned to the store to receive the first in a lifetime of checks from Virginia Lottery Executive Director Paula Otto. The store received $10,000 from the Virginia Lottery for selling the winning ticket.

The winning numbers for that drawing were 9-25-27-35-37-39 and the Free Ball was 29. Her husband didn’t have any special number combination in mind and bought the winning ticket using Easy Pick which means that the computer randomly selects the numbers on the ticket.

When asked what she plans to do with her winnings, Ms. Stevenson replied, “It’s going to be a good Christmas.”

According to the records, this is Virginia’s 35th lifetime winner since Win for Life began in February 2006. Win for Life drawings are held Wednesday and Saturday nights at 11:00. The chances of winning the top prize are 1 in 5,245,786. Other prizes in the game range from $2 to $52,000.

It looks like this couple will not have headaches due to financial reasons for life! Good for them!
