NC MOM AND DAUGHTER WIN THE LOTTERY THREE TIMES
July 28, 2011

Winning the lotteries looks like an unreachable dream, at least when considering the odds. Winning the lotteries twice seems out of this world, but doing it three times? Well, to many, that’s something that should be put down in a fiction novel. However, it looks like winning the lottery has become a habit for Kimberly McCauley from Charlotte, North Carolina, and her mother. State lottery

Kimberly McCauley managed to win a $100,000 prize at North Carolina’s “10x the Money” scratcher game. The woman said she never though she will ever win anything, especially after her mother, Amy McCauley, already won the lottery twice. Lottery winning numbers

“I figured my mom was hogging all the luck. This is so overwhelming, but it’s a good kind of overwhelming,” Kimberly McCauley stated. Lottery checker

Her mother just got her last 20 year annuity check, after winning an awesome $15.5 million at the New York State Lottery back in 1991. And she managed to do it again four years ago, as she won a $161,172 prize. And that’s about it for very large sums of money. However, the elder McCauley also managed to win a couple of $1,000 prizes, and she was even featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

Kimberly took her mother with her went she went to claim her prize last week. Ryan Kennemur, a spokesman for the North Carolina Education Lottery, stated that both women looked very calm, but especially the mother.

“Once you win the lottery twice, what’s a third time?” Ryan Kennemur stated.

Kimberly, who received $68,001 after she paid her taxes, said that she plans to buy a new car, most likely a Mini Cooper, and pay off her student loans.

It looks like North Carolina is teeming with people that win the lottery on more than one occasion. Michael Mabe from Belews Creek, North Carolina, won his first lottery prize back in December 2010 and collected his second $100,00 prize a few months ago, in May 2011.

“Winning one time is awesome. It’s a once in a lifetime thing,” Michael Mabe stated. “But winning twice is something special. I’m very grateful.”
