SACRAMENTO MACHINIST CLAIMS $300K MEGA MILLIONS PRIZE
August 24, 2011

A Mega Millions second place prize worth $301,451 was claimed by Frank Downs, a machinist from West Sacramento. The man said he checked his lottery tickets just a few days after the draw and did what most other lottery winners would do.

“Lots of expletives,” the man said. Mega lottery

After the man realized he had just won $300,000, he just placed the ticket in a safe spot and went on to complete his night shift.

“I put the ticket in the safe and went to work,” Frank Downs stated. Powerball lottery

Frank has been married for more than 27 years and he said he plans on paying off some debt and purchasing a new car for his wife.

“We’re still deciding how to tell our kids – maybe we’ll just let them read about us in the newspaper,” Frank Downs added.

The man purchased his lucky ticket at a Southport Mart, located at 3360 Jefferson Boulevard in West Sacramento. The lottery numbers for that particular draw were 1, 2, 22, 37, 50 and the Mega Ball 45. Frank managed to get the first 5 numbers right but unfortunately missed out on the Mega Ball. US lottery

Frank’s luck is just another reminder that there is always the chance to win something big if you just play the game. Frank has been playing the lotteries regularly for many years, and it finally paid off. $300,000 will not make a man rich, but it will still help him take care of business and maybe provide something better for himself or his family. Frank Downs is just another American who believed in his chances and managed to make something out of it.

The Mega Millions is a multi state lottery game played in 42 jurisdictions. Winning it seems like a piece of cake as a player must simply get 5 numbers right out of a pool of 1 to 56 and a Mega Ball out of a pool of 1 to 46.

Always remember to sign the back of your lottery tickets and keep them somewhere safe where you will not forget about them. We suggest finding a dry place and putting the tickets there, in a plastic bag. Under no circumstance should you keep your lottery tickets in your clothes.
