WISCONSIN LOTTERY SALES BACK TO NORMAL
July 26, 2011

The Wisconsin State Lottery was the one which benefited the most from Minnesota Lottery’s crisis. People from Minnesota crossed the border to Wisconsin for lottery tickets, and that brought forth a dramatic increase in sales. However, the Minnesota Lottery is now back on track, so the Wisconsin Lottery will probably start to notice a decrease in profits. And as we never like to see lottery sales go down, we decided do a small piece about its history and games. Lottery results

The lottery started to keep daily drawings in 1991, when the Supercash! Game was introduced. In 1993, it introduced the Pick 3 game, which was so successful that the lottery decided to introduce another similar game, the Pick 4, just 4 years later. These were some of the most successful games introduced by the Wisconsin State Lottery, but they were most certainly not alone. National lottery

There were also several flops, one of the most prominent being the Daily Millions game. The problem was that the drawing system was extremely complicated and people rarely won the grand prize. Another very unsuccessful game was Cash4Life. This one did not offer any lump sum option, and just 4 people managed to win the jackpot until the game was discontinued in 1999. Lottery numbers

One of the lottery’s more interesting games was The Money Game. It was televised weekly and all the contestants had a shot at playing the game if they had a scratch ticket with three “TV” symbols. If a ticket was not chosen for the main event, it could still win more than $500 at a side game. Every week, five people got the play the main game, which had 4 or 5 rounds. They had the chance to win cash prizes, which were hidden behind the “WISCONSIN LOTTERY MONEYGAME” letters. The letters were arranged in a “wheel of fortune” style, but it was very different from that popular TV game show. The contestants would take turns at spinning the wheel, and they had to pick a letter out of the column where the plunger stopped. Then the player would win the prize hidden behind that letter. The winner would go to a bonus round, where he had the chance to win $50,000. However, that game was discontinued in 2003.
